This study aimed to analyze the relationship between age, economic status, and parity and the incidence of postpartum depression among postpartum mothers at Kartini Maternal and Child Hospital in Makassar City. The study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational design and a cross-sectional method. The sample consisted of 75 postpartum mothers selected using total sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires, while postpartum depression was measured using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods, specifically the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that 65.3% of respondents experienced postpartum depression. The majority of respondents were under 20 years of age, had low economic status, and were multiparous. Age was significantly associated with postpartum depression, with the highest proportion of depression observed in mothers under 20. Economic status was also significantly associated; mothers with low economic status exhibited a higher proportion of depression compared to those with high economic status. Parity was likewise significantly associated, with a higher proportion of depression found among multiparous mothers. These findings indicate that postpartum depression is closely linked to demographic, socioeconomic, and reproductive history factors. Consequently, early screening, psychological education, family support, and monitoring of postpartum mothers need to be strengthened within maternal and child hospital services. ER -
