Drug logistics management in healthcare facilities in Indonesia is an important aspect to ensure the availability of medicines that is appropriate, efficient, and equitable. A well-managed system supports the success of healthcare services; however, various challenges remain, such as stock shortages, delayed distribution, and storage facilities that need improvement. This literature review aims to evaluate drug logistics management in various healthcare facilities in Indonesia, as well as to identify challenges and opportunities for improving the management system. The literature review was conducted through a descriptive study by collecting data from various healthcare facilities, including hospitals and primary health centers, that implement drug logistics management systems. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis related to information systems such as SIMDIO, e-purchasing, and e-catalogue. The results of the literature review indicate that drug logistics management is generally well-organized and systematic, with the implementation of FIFO and FEFO systems and the use of digital information systems that help improve efficiency and supervision. Several facilities, such as QIM Batang Hospital and Faisal Islamic Hospital Makassar, demonstrate very good logistics management. However, challenges are still found, including stock shortages, delayed distribution, suboptimal storage facilities, and SOPs that are not yet fully effective. Improving human resource capacity and the utilization of information technology are important factors for improvement. Drug logistics management in healthcare facilities in Indonesia requires continuous improvement to ensure equitable and efficient availability of medicines. Increased use of information technology, enhanced human resource capacity, and strengthened planning and evaluation processes are essential to support optimal healthcare services.
