Hypertension is a degenerative disease that requires continuous treatment to minimize complications. Hypertension can be treated in various ways, including using traditional medicine (OT). The use of traditional medicine relies heavily on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the elderly to ensure proper and correct use. Hypertension can also have negative impacts, including various cardiovascular diseases, such as stroke and coronary heart disease. Causes of hypertension can include genetic factors, an unhealthy lifestyle, a high-sodium diet, stress, obesity, and lack of physical activity/exercise. Hypertension can be treated through lifestyle changes, the use of antihypertensive medications, and the use of natural ingredients such as bay leaves. The purpose of this Systematic Literature Review is to determine the effect of boiled bay leaf water on reducing blood pressure in people with hypertension. The data collection method used in this study is quantitative. Data collection is based on the SINTA-accredited Google Scholar search engine for the period 2021-2024. This systematic literature review uses 10 articles that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The database search results obtained a total of 1.290 articles. Next, a duplication check was carried out whether there were any duplications or not. After the articles were checked for duplication and excluded, 554 articles were obtained. The reviewers then screened the titles and abstracts to obtain 10 articles that matched the topic and were reviewed. The obtained articles were then included in the next stage, namely full-text review based on the inclusion criteria set by the reviewers. Ten eligible research articles were then assessed for quality and synthesized in this literature review.
