Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still a public health problem with a high incidence rate. Granulocyte lymphocyte ratio (RGL) is an easily acquired inflammatory biomarker and has the potential to be used to describe clinical conditions and length of hospitalization in pediatric patients with dengue. This study aims to analyze the relationship between RGL and the length of hospitalization in pediatric patients at H. Abdul Manap Hospital, Jambi City. The research design used observational analytics with a cross-sectional approach. Data was obtained from the medical records of pediatric patients diagnosed with dengue for the 2021–2024 period, with sample selection through purposive sampling techniques. The variables studied included RGL, length of hospitalization, and severity of dengue fever. The results showed that RGL underwent changes throughout the course of the disease and reflected the dynamics of the inflammatory response. The value of RGL in the initial phase is more representative in describing the clinical condition than in the later phase. The length of the stay is not only influenced by the degree of severity, but also by other clinical factors such as the time of the patient’s arrival, response to therapy, comorbidities, and additional clinical conditions. Thus, RGL has the potential as a supporting biomarker in the clinical evaluation of pediatric patients with dengue, but its use needs to be combined with clinical examination and other laboratory parameters for a comprehensive assessment of the prognosis.
